"The Ultimate" targets youths through positive music
January 27, 2010
Although it might sound cliché, upcoming deejay The Ultimate says he really wants to make a difference in the music business.
The deejay, who hails from Portmore, says his greatest desire is to reach the youths through his music in a positive way.
Cognisant of the fact that young minds are easily influenced, The Ultimate has chosen to do only positive music. The Ultimate firmly believes that if more artistes take this route and use all available avenues to promote their music heavily to get positive messages to the youths, we will see a big change in Jamaica.
"As an artiste I want to make a positive impact on the minds of the youths. I am a father and I want my son and people's children to grow up in a better Jamaica. That's why I don't record certain types of songs," he said.
The Ultimate is currently enjoying steady rotation on radio stations with singles like the anti-violence anthem - I Wish, Nine To Five and Look Around You. The accompanying music video for I Wish is also receiving good airplay. The Ultimate is currently in the process of shooting a music video in support of his latest single, which is titled Look Around You. The music video is being shot and directed by music video production company Terminal Four and is being filmed at various locations in Kingston. The shooting of the video is expected to be completed before the end of the week.
